Ace My Ass...

fucking Sheets goes 6 innings of 1 hit ball (not getting any run support again) and has a 1-0 and can't get the first guy in the 7th after being up 1-2 and the wheels fall off. I think Ned left him in to long to try and "let him get through it". CC can do it...Sheet's can't. Benny's only out in the inning was a diving stop by Lance Nix on a .111 hitter. The Brewers (Sheets and hitters) fucked up a great opportunity today. I hope we can somehow get a couple of games in LA, but I'd take 1 and get home.

I'm frustrated too, but we were going against their "ace" who was pretty damn impressive today. It was good to win the series. I'm happy with that, but we should have won with Sheets on the mound.

Hey! What the fuck? I'm the Designated Bitcher. Who the fuck gave you my job?

Anyway, am I the only one who's terrified of the potential Nervous Ned / Shit-the-Bed Sheets combo of death in the playoffs? Holy hell. I've never seen anyone melt under pressure like these two. When the games really matter? Fuck me.

That's true. The wheels seem to fall off of Sheets too quickly and too often of late. But then again he still only gave up 3 runs and at the time we only spotted him 1 run. We were facing Peavy who is a superior pitcher to Sheets, so the result wasn't totally unexpected. And we won the series in their ballpark without our best hitter so I'll take it. I just have a bad feeling about this weekend with the Bushy/Suppan 1-2 punch. I'll take 1 win, and be happy with taking 2 as the Dodgers are playing pretty well since the addition of Manny.

BTW - what's the word on Braun?

He took swings yesterday off a tee, hopes to take BP today, might play sometime this weekend. Says he feels a lot better, doesn't know how the hell he got hurt.

I am concerned about this weekend as well. The pitching matchups aren't ideal for us and we always struggle out there. I think Suppan will finish the year strong, he always does. I'm more concerned about Manny right now.

I can tell you how he got hurt. Your body isn't designed to swing at balls eye level over the outside corner of the plate for strike 3. A little plate discipline is all Braun needs for his back.

Team leading 10 walks for SB's TG.

SB's Tony Gwynn should offer a training video ala Tom Emanski on plate discipline in bar-league softball:

"All-time leading walker in Section 8 history, motherfuckers!"

and an OBP 100 points higher than my batting average. sounds to me like Devil's 3-some is jealous...thought his 7 walks might win the title.

Jealous? Jealous that you are Section 8's answer to Rickie Weeks? I think not Mr. Lowest Batting Average on the Team.

It's no wonder Section 8 can't take their game to the next level. The animosity inside the locker room is Prince Fielder/Manny Parra-esque. I got more walks than you.....my avg is .100 pts higher than yours. Sheesh. You need to quit worrying about your own statistics and start thinking more about the good of the time. And it should start in the bar. I suggest putting in extra hours on monday nights by drinking more delicious pitchers of miller lite and jager bombs. I think the xtra time spent together will provide what looks like some much needed comaraderie within the team.

That is what Reid and the Va Jay Jay have been doing all year and our relationship on the left side of the infield has been fantastic. The defense hasn't always been fantastic, but at least we aren't yelling at each other. And i don't think it is a surprise that we are always the last two to leave the bar from the 8. It also helps that I'm single and that Mrs. Reid is very understanding.
