Let's Get Sveum-y.

Your inaugural Dale Sveum line-up, brought to you by Jagermeister and Red Bull:

CF Mike Cameron
2B Ray Durham
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
SS JJ Hardy
RF Corey Hart
3B Craig Counsell
C Jason Kendall
P CC Sabathia

Yes! This is the kind of decisive leadership we were missing! Only Dale Sveum has the man-sack to bat a guy with a lower OBP than Rickie Weeks in the lead-off spot! Fuck yeah!

Notice the quick elimination of Weeks and Hall. I like it. Cameron at the top of the order is a bit perplexing, but wtf i say. Nothing else is working so hell bat Sheets at lead off.

Hart can do his best to make sure he's the last out in his inning. Then, Craigers can get on base, Kendall can intentionally strike out to avoid the DP, CC can knock in the run, then after (K)ameron's plate appearance Durham can hit CC in.

That's like 2 runs guaranteed for 3 or 4 innings in the game! This line-up totally pleases and sparkles.

Your argument fell apart with "Craigers can get on base." I couldn't get past that line.

The crafty veteran will figure it out. Perhaps he can get hit by a pitch every at-bat? We need to find new and creative ways to manufacture runs, since hitting really isn't too much of an option right now.

Maybe Yount has been working on something in his secret laboratory for the past year.

Craigers used to be the king of the Catcher Interference. He used to be good for 3 or 4 of those a year. Maybe he should try some of that magic.

I love Sveum already. According to the js, in a team meeting he expressed the plan to do more bunting and hit and runs, small ball if you will.

Wow, i thought MLB made this sort of thing illegal. Hmm. I like this "small ball" idea that he refers to.

Normally, I ruthlessly make fun of fans who advocate small ball. They are usually the same people who are big Tony-Gwynn-our-lord-and-savior fans. But after seeing us try to hit home runs on every count and in every situation, I welcome it. As I type, Braun pops up with Durham at 2nd and nobody out.

We're still dicked though.

Prince annihilated that ball. Heck, maybe that will spark the Crew.
