A Sign of Progress.

While celebrating my championship in this year's edition of Fantasy Baseball (said celebration involved a mini bottle of Cook's, some Ritz crackers, and a few slices of Colby Jack cheese, enjoyed while I watched the Sox - Tigers game all by myself yesterday), I clicked on my Yahoo! profile to see if my most recent championship (and, don't look now, but I've won two of the last three seasons of fantasy baseball and finished second in the other one -- hello, dynasty) had boosted my overall fantasy ranking.

And as I looked over the results of fantasy seasons gone by, I was struck by the name Reid gave our fantasy baseball league four years ago:

.500 or Bust.

Wow. Four years ago, we were salivating over the prospect of the Brewers squeaking out a .500 season.

These are heady times, indeed.

that's hillarious!

again congrats on your championship...i was still paying attention but my aces stopped being aces this season.

PS-what are we doing Saturday? I'm all for tailgating and enjoying the day as much as I can.

Definitely tailgating. I'm smelling the roses on this one. I propose going to the parking lot around 3:30 or so and drinking it all in, literally and figuratively.

I even pledge not to boo Dave Bush.

speculation is soup in game 3...i'm all for tailgating as early as possible...tentative plan meet at your place at 230 to get there by 3...i don't want to be late for the game either.

Oh. Really? Hmm. I can make no promises about my reaction to Jeff Suppan. I can't believe I'm about to type this: it better be Bush in Game 3.

I'm feeling faint ... uh oh .... askldjflaksdj;fasdsweoqiqp;joknm

Let's plan on 2:30. I'll get the brats, you bring the beer.

I thought you couldn't trust SBTG to get beer? Last time he had to make sure Princess went pee pee before he could leave the house.

Also, agreed, I would rather have Bush start game 3 that Soup. He's been throwing the ball well.

We can't trust him to get a KEG. I don't think we're going to need a keg on Saturday. Now that you mention it, we didn't need a keg on that Saturday in July, either. What a terrible idea that was.

The 1/4 barrel was a fantastic idea. The people next to us were impressed - 6.5 dudes downed a 1/4 barrel, that's Milwaukee folks!

I hope Anne has recovered from my threatening phone calls involving cutting her member off. Also, I am no longer allowed in George Webb's. It's Double Happiness next time!!

Yes to the Double Happiness!

Remember that there is a good chance I will crash your tailgate party after the game. Victory or not, playoff baseball is something to soak in.

Any word on what time they are going to open the lots? Is it going to be standard time or are they going to open extra early? If they don't open early I suspect they are going to have huge traffic issues as I'm guessing many are going to be itching to get into the parking lot early so they can party like its 1982.

BTW - did ya'all hear what Keith was planning on doing? He really wanted to find a car to paint Brewers colors to take tailgating. I didn't think he was serious when I talked to him on Sunday, but word on the street is that he has 4-5 people going in on a $500 conversion van for sale that they plan on painting friday night while getting hammerred off of Miller High Life. Sounds like a good time. Anyways, we plan on taking this hooptie and a few other cars for tailgating and are going to meet at Keith's before we head over to the ballpark if anyone wants to join the madness.
