Ugh.

I am not feeling well today. Part of it is the head cold, part of it is that my soul was ripped out of my body yesterday by Geovany Soto.

There's nothing that can be said at this point, other than this:

"Are you surprised at my tears, sir?"

"Dude, fuckin' A!"

"Strong men also cry. Strong men ... also cry."

I think yesterday is a perfect summation of this entire season. The Crew kept us excited and interested for 8 innings only to kick us in the nuts in the last 1/2 of the 9th.....which is similar to our 4-5 months of success followed by september disaster. And who in this room thought we were actually going to win the game once it reached extras? Not me...not after that 4 run let down. I don't know how any team can get back up off the mat after what they've done so far in september and then actually play a good game only to watch it all pissed away with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth. Even when they had 2nd and 3rd with no out in the 11th, I knew we would find a way to f it up. We are merely 1.5 games back yet it feels like 20. Sheets is done. Parra folded and is busy spitting sunflower seeds from the pen. I don't know if I can handle these mental ups and downs anymore. I just want these last 2 weeks to get over with so I can stop hanging onto this tiny thread that is all but snapped. At this point, I don't even want this team in the playoffs. It will be embarassing. This season can't end fast enough. Maybe they should just tank to get more ping pong balls in the lottery. Oh wait. Here's to smashing the playoff drought record in the 4 major sports. I personally want to thank Bud and Wendy Selig and Ned Yost for making this record possible.

Let it out, man. Let it out. This can be our version of Homer's "Dump Bucket" portion of the program yesterday: say whatever you want, and you are 100% correct.

I'm not feeling well because after the digsusting late-inning melt-down I decided it was a good idea to top off my Oldstyles with a lot of High Life and then top that off with an Oberon to drown my sorrows.

Worst Friday ever!!!

I was on a field trip today and got stung by a bee... which I'm allergic to. No epipen so I had to spend an hour or so at a hospital getting medicine.

Worst field trip ever.

No one is surprised this happened to me.
