Question of the Day

For my NFL watching cohorts, how did the Bengals get so bad again? I thought they were on the cusp of relevancy a couple years ago. Is it because their good players are all in jail? Enquiring minds want to know.

Their defense, even in their playoff days, was atrocious, and it's no better now.

Their offensive line is crap. Zero running lanes, and Palmer got killed in the first few weeks of the season.

Ocho Cinco is somewhat banged up. They don't have a third receiver. No tight end to speak of.

And their coach is horrible.

I remember that game in 2004 or 2005, when they played the Colts in Cincy in a crazy track meet. It was fun to watch, but they couldn't stop Indy. I think the teams combined for 50+ points at the half.

Actually, defense isn't as much of an issue anymore. Their biggest problem and the reason they suck so bad is their O-line. They can't run block so nobody respects it and plays straight up. On passing downs, they can't pass block either, so Carson has no time and gets killed. The only O-line that may be as bad as Cincy's is St.Louis'. Boy am I glad I drafted Steven Jackson with my first pick.
