Roadie

So I thought I would get a tally on who is still interested in making the Louisville road trip in March, as was discussed at Nick and Kim's wedding on saturday. The game is Sunday, March 1st at noon EST. Tentative plan was to drive to Cincy Friday night and raise a little hell in a different town for a couple nights, drive to U of L Sunday morning for the game, then make the drive back to Milwaukee after the game. If my calculations are correct, arrival in Milwaukee should be at ~8:00pm if all goes well. If we have a number of people that are serious we should consider looking for tickets asap on ebay or stub hub as I believe they sell out their building for the entire season. Considering it will be played in the last week of the season, I'm guessing that it will be very important in deciding who finishes atop the Big East. I so love Roadies, so who is with me?

oh that was serious? ha! jk...I'm interested but I'd also be interested in adding a night in Louisville. we could head to cincy Friday after work get in late there and then south saturday afternoon. get a hotel room downtown or out by Freedom Hall for one night and split it among all of us.

I haven't been to Louisville so I wouldn't mind spending the night down there and talking some trash at a local establishment. It matters not to me.

I'm in. Plenty of gentlemen's clubs in the 'Ville. They even have Skyline, La Bamba's and 4 am bar time. $50 to the first guy who makes a public Muhammed Ali "shaking" joke.

I was thinking about entertainment on saturday, so my first thought was if U of Cincy was playing in town on saturday we could check that out. I looked into it, and they play on Sunday like we do. That got me thinking about other possibilities of course. So after a little research, I found out that the best and most desirable option in the area would be Kentucky vs. LSU in Lexington, KY at 4:00 pm EST. We could make the trek to lexington saturday morningish, lunch/bloodies in lexington before the game, then make the ~2hr drive to Louisville after the game. In my case, it would be killing 2 venues (Very prominent venues that is) in 1 weekend. I think that would be pretty kick ass! And I'm sure all the UK fans would LOVE to see Marquette shirts in the crowd. Ha!

And Yes I did look into Indiana but unfortunately they play at Penn St. on saturday. I was praying that they would perhaps be playing Wisconsin that day. How perfect would that have been! Even though this doesn't work out that weekend, does anyone else feel like we should make it to an Indiana game at some point, get good tix close to Indiana's bench and heckle good ol' Tommy? You know he would notice a group of young guys sporting blue and gold in the middle of the Hoosier red. I don't know who I would root for if they played the Badgers. Never mind, I'd still root for Indiana.

I'm in. The Lexington idea sounds kind of cool. Gotta love big time college basketball in person. Anything sounds good as long as it involves Skyline and Sonic.

Holy shit! We have to make it a basketball Mecca weekend. Holy shit - we have to do that. Fuck, brilliant Money, motherfucking brilliant. Maybe SBTG can harass Ashley Judd. Fuck! Meatloaf! Now!

Ok, I'm calming down. I have a co-worker who's a UK grad. I'll see if he has any connections. On a related note, the parallels are ridiculous. UK, our postseason whipping boy, versus Trent Johnson, the d-bag who got tossed in our heartbreaking NCAA loss.

I think this is a fabulous idea and I love the enthusiasm so far.
I am totally getting jacked for college hoops at this point.

While scouring I also saw 2 key injuries to note: 1. Terrence Williams is out 4-6 weeks with a knee issue and 2. Levance Fields is out due to a second surgery on his left foot. They haven't specified how long he is out for in this case.

Also, somewhat of a joke I thought (or maybe I am clueless and completely wrong). On espn.com, Fran Fraschilla ranked the top 10defenders in NCAA. McNeal was ranked #3 to no surprise, however 1 that wasn't in the top 10 but was mentioned along with 6 others was Krabbenhoft. Landry was 1 of the other 6 mentioned, which is fine, but Krabbenhoft? Am I completely wrong in thinking that Fraschilla is way off on this?

I'm already watching a number of tickets for both the Marquette/Louisville game and the LSU/Kentucky game for that weekend on ebay. For the record, at this point both games are looking at $80-$100+ per ticket (The UK games seem to be especially expensive, some games $250-$500 per ticket). So if anyone is ready to do this I'm ready to go and at least get the Marquette tix asap. Being we're so far out, we can maybe hold off a bit to see if better seats become available. Let's try and discuss this further so we know what we should do.

i fucking love Ashley Judd...I can't believe double jeopardy didn't win an Oscar! you can actually see her boobie in that movie in the opening yacht sex scene right before that jag of a husband throws her overboard.
