Nova Predictions

I can't wait for the BE season to start! I predict a 72-68 MU win. Wes will have a big game with 25 points. I'm worried about Cunningham. I think he will get Lazar into foul trouble early.
I'm very interested to see how many people will be there since it's January 1st.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Yeah, I think that it will be a close fought game but MU will win......I'll go with 77-70. I predict Dominic will have the big game. He seems to play well against Reynolds. In regards to the Cunningham/Hayward matchup....I don't think it's a big mismatch. Cunningham is playing well, but he's not the bruising Harangodyesque big guy that will get you into foul trouble. He's big, but he's versatile enough where he can step out more and hit a 15 foot jumper. In fact, I would try to have Hayward play on the perimeter a little more than usual to try and pull Cunningham out which could open up the lane more and give MU more opportunies to grab offensive boards.

The one thing that I'm worried about is that we're the home team on New Year's Day. I suspect the road team will be business as usual, whereas there is the potential for New Year's Eve shenanigans by the MU players. I would hope that our upperclassmen would know better.

We need to get off on the right foot and I think that Villanova is the perfect test. A good but not great team and we get them at home. Beating the 15th ranked team would be a nice way to start conference play and would be a good start to what I think is going to be a good month of January for us.

i agree with everyone's wins 72-65. i think the crowd (aside from the student section) will be strong. Might not be completely full but still should be a fired up crowd. I'm going to be yelling at the top of my lungs regardless of how hung over Reid and VaJayJay are.

I'm tempted to against the grain and predict a loss. However, at home... on New Years Day... a bunch of rowdy MU fans having the hair of the dog... MU 75 Nova 67.

Can I also predict that Reid will be hung over tomorrow and drinking Mountain Dew at the game? I will wager $1 on it.

Fuck that dude, I'm drinking bloody marys all morning, jumping in Lake Michigan at noon, and heading down to the BC after that. I'm not gonna let the hangover hit me until Friday morning.

As for the game I really think we match-up pretty well with Nova. They're a lot like us in that they're a team of good guards, yet not a tremendous outside shooting team (aside from Corey Stokes). I think if we can make Cunningham play out on the floor, and possibly get him some early fouls, we handle business. I'll say 79-68 Marquette.
