Survive and Advance...

I don't care how we got the W as long as we got it and same goes for Friday. It was a great start followed by some ugly basketball, followed by a great start in the second half, followed by some ugly basketball. And the end of the day its a 15 point win on the road. DePaul sucks!

Jerel is a beast. 28 (or 26 depending on site), 8-16 total shooting, 5-8 of 3s, 7-7 from the line, 6 assists, 4 boards, 4 steals, 4 blocks. I can't wait for the quituple double on Friday. I'll ignore the 5 TO's for now. Another nice quiet night for Wes and he really was huge during our bad parts of the game. 18 pts (or 20) 8-10 overall with 7 boards. I'm really starting to love Jimmy. he comes off the bench boards the ball, catches the guards passes (he's our new Ooze) and finishes 7 points and 6 boards. DJ had 2 huge shots towards the end that were the daggers. 15 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals.

Absolutely love the 57% shooting and made 14 throws (both DJ and Butler missed 4) than they attempted. they actually were 5-12 from the line. That Walker guys is going to be a major pain in the ass, but he put up some horrible shots. i love this team and can't wait for Friday! half way home and we've got 20 wins all ready.

as Mac stated on the post-game show...at the beginning of the season Marquette needed 20 wins overall and .500 conference record. well check and check...we've both all ready and its only Feb. 3rd.

Jerel had 26 and 5 steals. That is at least what Homer said.

Where we watching the S.F game?

A favorite game of mine to play when watching the game and Zone is not present is to guess what he is yelling at different times. It is a fun way to amuse oneself when watching the game alone.

Can you put a smiley face or a winky face or some shit when you write something like Jimmy Legs "catches the guards' passes (he's our new Ooze)"? Because I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Ooze played like he had oven mitts on his hands. I don't miss his fumble-fumble-fumble-flail out of bounds-drop the ball routine.

dude that hurts! why the hell didn't you invite yourself over...you could have brought Mrs. Zone/Lil' Zone some chicken wings.

Lil' Zone. I like it.

no sarcasim needed. all i meant was he is a lot closer to Ooze than anyone else on our team I guess in the fact that he plants himself on the baseline for DJ/Rel to drive, dish, catch and make the lay-up. sorry if the ooze comparision was seen as a dig on Jimmy cuz its not. I love Jimmy...that's what she said! heyooooo!

No, didn't take it as a dig on Jimmy Legs, just wondered if I missed a play where Legs re-enacted Ooze's signature play: perfect pass from DJ, wide open layup, Ooze plays hot potato with the ball for three seconds, tightropes the baseline, ultimately falls out of bounds. He was good for three of those every game.

Now where's the cake?

You clowns can come over to Chez Dohmen on Friday night for the game. I'll be home about 5:30. Order some pizza and/or wings and have at it.

Jimmy doesn't finish - he needs to get much stronger with the ball. He is improving though. What was with his broke ass FT shooting tonight - that was out of character.

The place was about 1/2 MU fans. That is one shitty ass place to watch a game. The sightlines are terrible. Some DePaul students went up into the MU student section and started a brawl. In typical AllState Arena fashion, no one came over to break it up for five minutes.

For some reason, Bill Cords was sitting in the upper deck by himself watching the game - very interesting.

Now, on to worrying about USF full time until Friday!

Weren't the DePaul students outnumbered 20-1? Them aren't real good odds. I guess they don't teach math down there.

yeah and its not that great to watch a game on TV either. I don't know what it is with the Big East network feed on WMLW or Ch 32 but is horrible. The highlights on ESPN were normal so I can't understand why our stupid channels can't get the better feed. After our game was over I switched over the the Florida/Cocks game (Darin Horn is doing nice things with Cocks...ahem) and it was in a well lit building in HD and I was just amazed at the quality difference.

Thought it was interesting that Florida didn't sell out as there were open seats in the arena.

It's a fun game to play, Zone. I keep thinking things like, "Come on!!!", "Rebound!!!!", "Pass the ball!!!!!". Then I imagine Mrs. Zone saying, "Zone." as she shoots looks at others because she is embarassed by this man's love of Marquette basketball. It's just like being at the Bradley Center. Except without some bald douche behind us.

I mean nothing but love, Zone. Nothin' but love.

I'm happy to take the W any way we can get it.

My favorite part of the night was when Maurice Acker's grandma introduced Beth to Robert Jackson and let her know that "he used to play for Marquette".

It's pretty amazing that at some points MU was playing some sloppy basketball, but they still managed to win by 15. You know times are good when that happens.

I'm really worried about South Florida on Friday

How fat is RJax now? I'm guessing he's pushing 4 bills.

RJax looked to be in surprisingly good shape. He had some hottie with him and I think he only had an order of nachos.
