Bucks Trade Jefferson...

The pre-draft deals have once again includes the Milwaukee Bucks. Bucks trade Richard Jefferson for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabricio Oberto.

Spurs will now win the NBA championship and the Bucks will release Bowen and Oberto for financial reasons to save $6 million next year, not to mention the $15 million from Jefferson.

Perhaps that means we'll sign Chucky V or Ramon Sessions. If we draft Flynn sign Chucky V, if we get Jordan Hill, sign Sessions.

Thoughts on trade?

GREAT DEAL! Does this mean that they have enough confidence in Joe Alexander to start at the 3? Or does this just give the Bucks more options on draft day....ie. Demar Derozan or Earl Clark. I hope they stick to their original plan of PF/PG.

I'm fine with this. It's clearly for financial flexibility, which the Bucks need desperately. But if they take that money and re-sign Villanueva, they better hope that he doesn't regress any. They are going to need him, and whoever they draft, to be major factors if they have any dillusions of escaping the death spiral they're currently in.

I am totally against resigning CharlieV. If we are dealing RJeff for financial reasons, I don't see why we should sink a lot of money and years into a soft wing floating power forward. This move says we're essentially in rebuild mode, so transferring RJ's money to CV just doesn't make sense. We need to draft smart, continue to get younger, and tread water until the DannyG and possibly the Michael Redd contracts off the books.

PS. I pray to god that we don't draft Earl Clark

By the way Reid, will you finally concede that drafting Yi 2 years ago was a bad move? We now have 3 over the hill expiring contracts to show for it.

Here's an idea....what about dealing our pick to Minnesota for picks #18 and #28. At 18, I imagine either Teague, Jennings, or Lawson will be available. Then we can have a shot at a PF at 28 or 42.....Demarre Carrol, Heytvelt. Or possibly Hansbrough/Blair at 18, Maynor at 28, AJ Price at 42?

You guys really need to slow down with the commenting here!

PS. It looks like the Crew is in an uncontrollable downward trend. At this point I hope we don't trade any of our top prospects for pitching. I don't think that adding another quality starter will do much.

I think we keep the pick at 10 and take a player we all hate. Then dump too much money in Charlie V's front yard. We also sign Sessions who destroys his knee and collects his paycheck.

This is worst case scenario of course...

I've heard two things today that fall firmly into the DO NOT WANT category:

Dejuan Blair at 10. DO NOT WANT.

Resigning Villanueva with the money saved on the Jefferson trade. ESPECIALLY DO NOT WANT.

Agreed! I would also like to add Earl Clark into the ESPECIALLY DO NOT WANT category if that is ok with everyone.

Okay with me. Clark has huge mess written all over him. When the "shoot the 3" happy crowd at Freedom Hall pukes in its mouth every time he touches the ball you know something is wrong.
