Curious.

What do you do when:

You beat a grossly-overrated Duke team, whose best win on the young year is a victory over an equally-overrated UCONN squad ...

The win comes on the second day of December ...

Your own program was ranked No. 1 in the nation just three years ago (I'll save you the trouble of Googling it: February '07) ...

Apparently, if you're in Madison, you rush the floor.

Way to act like you've been there before, dipshits.

I thought it was pretty ridiculous but, ultimately, I was okay with it because it put my lady friend in the mood. Wednesday night is for business time.

Maybe it wasn't as much as them beating Duke as it was the Big10 FINALLY winning the ACC/Big10 challenge.....on their 11th try! Way to go Clemson.

I will say the Badgers are playing better than expected.....although Duke didn't impress me AT ALL last night. How can 1 team have so many top notch recruits yet only have 1 guy that can create on his own (Singler). They are, to no one's surprise, once again OVER RATED clapclap, clapclapclap OVER RATED. It could be a rough game for MU in Madison in 2 weeks.

Ahh, sweet weekly love.

and the one guy that can create his own shot...singler...totally blew it in the final minute by trying to force a shot up to tie the game and then mis-firing on a half court fast ball. someone needs to tell him that the clock doesn't start until someone touches the ball so there's no need to throw in 100 mph to half court.

and I 100% disagree that its going to be a rough game for MU in 2 weeks. sure we are going to have trouble with their size but that's going to be an issue with virtually everyone we play. as long as they don't shoot lights out and we stay out of foul trouble I think we can give them one hell of a game because they have to match-up with us as well and both Zar and Jimmy can take the big guys outside. I think we can frustrate the hell out of them and do a much better job guarding their guards than Duke did.

I think beating Duke is always floor-storming-worthy. Because Duke is evil.

It's almost exciting as that Team Building Exercise '99.

Anybody else got a Conchords reference they want to drop, before the robots poison our asses?

Storming the floor isn't cool? Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve tell you that, perchance?

Mmmm, Steve...

Being the stickler for court storming etiquette that I am, I can only say "Bad form*" on this one. A guy I work with said that I would be fine with it if Marquette had done the storming. I told him that I would not be ok with it, and I am always critical of bad court stormings even our own.

I'd drop a FoTC reference but there's too many dicks here.

Holy fuck! What is that screen name? Is that a variation of a binary solo?

Yeah, she even brushed her teeth for me... that's all part of the foreplay, I love foreplay.

SBTG - I agree with your thoughts regarding the matchup. Duke's defense was sieve-like and they apparently forgot about boxing guys out. Further, offensively, I don't remember seeing a Duke team playing so much 1 on 1 ball and jacking up bad shots. They played right into UW's hands.

My fears about that game...

1. Depth/Foul Trouble - The number of ginormous white guys that UW can cycle in is ridiculous. Lazar and Jimmy need to play smart. Box out and try to avoid fouling their bigs. While we held our own against Fl. St's athletic bigs, UW's big men while not athletic play a lot smarter. I predict that Bo is going to attack down low early and try to get some chippy fouls on MU (I know that never happens at the Kohl Center. Cue sarcasm)

1. Kohl Center is ALWAYS a tough place to play, regardless of how good UW is. Our team by in large is young and inexperienced. This is the first really tough road test that the likes of DJO, Buycks, and JMay will experience. How will they handle it? Remember how tough of a W it was for MU in Madison 2 years ago with the talented starting five that we had then?

I'm not saying we don't have a shot, but we will need to play nearly flawless to win. More like how we played against Michigan and 1st half vs. Fl.St.....less like the 2nd half of Fl.St.

I wonder if Vander will be attending.

I have to share several thoughts:

Court storming - bad form! UW previously stormed the court when they won Big 11 titles. UW has been a consistent Big 11 threat for years, as mentioned earlier, were ranked #1 in 2007 and are fully expected to be an NCAA tourney team this year. Would they storm the floor against a #5 MSU in Jan? Never, that's why last night was inexcusable.

MU-UW matchup - UW's size concerns me greatly. Just because we will have a size disadvantage in every game doesn't diminish our disadvantage versus UW. To compensate, we need to run and gun and UW 1) takes care of the ball, which limits running and 2) has done a fantastic job of controlling pace for years. FSU had to take out their bigs b/c they, as a team, kept turning the ball over, which led to easy baskets. That's how we built the lead, but that's not likely to happen with UW.
That being said, Bo likes to move his bigs out to the perimeter, which plays right into our hands. If Bo tweaks things, which he is loathe to do, and pounds it inside consistently, we are probably cooked.
Another thing to look at is guard play. Trevon played the game of his life last night, but J-Bo (shudder) was off. Both played 38 (!) minutes. Obviously, Bo doesn't trust his reserve guards. Can we pressure Trevon and J-Bo enough with DJO and Buycks to wear them down? I'm not sure we can considering Mo & David will get serious minutes.
In summary, I am very worried about our chances against UW, but something tells me they played their game of the year last night. Maybe Trevon won't take us seriously again, you know, kind of a joke.

Binary solo dude - how are we dicks? I mean, we only have about 40 anti-UW labels...

Trevon was pretty damn good last night I have to give it to him. But I'm also curious why Duke felt the need to leave him alone so often. He was the hot hand yet the Dukies frequently seemed disinterested in guarding him. I had this conversation with my TV a couple times:

Me: Oh, there's Trevon, he's hot tonight. Someone get out on him. Get on him, get on him, get on him!
TV (sounding a lot like Brent Musberger): Hughes open for three again... He hit another one!
Me: Son of a bitch!!!
Mrs. Reid: *rolls eyes and goes to bed shaking head at yelling idiot in living room*

And why all the talk about the Badgers' "whities"? Albi you are so racist!
