I actually think it's stupid that the player doesn't get to choose. The point of this particular part of the Hall of Fame is to honor the actual player. The argument against letting the player choose seems to come down to the idea that the Hall is first and foremost a museum. While this is true, induction into the hall of fame is a reward and acknowledgment. If the hall wants to put up a display like "Great Expos of the 80s", or even add a plaque to someone's display detailing their exploits for all of their teams, that seems like a fair solution. Putting a cap on a guy if he doesn't want the cap on seems kind of ridiculous.
Screw Wade Boggs. I was playing RBI baseball yesterday and couldn't get that idiot out. Frank Viola's curve wasn't sharp for some reason.
I also hated how announcers would say things like "Wade Boggs could probably hit 25-30 HRs if he wanted to, but he says he feels more valuable to his team this way."

DAVE STIEB. Kick ass!
Damn Rubes - you beat me to it. Where's Jimmy Key when you need him? Or Rance Mulliniks?

Blame Wade Boggs for trying to whore his cap out to the D-Rays.
"So how many beers would Wade Boggs drink on a West Coast road trip?"
"I don't know, 80-90 or so."
