TEDDY BOY BRINGS IT: CHAMPIONSHIP MONDAY

Whether or not anyone is following the hibernating Quevedo Buffett anymore is a mute point, because I am bringing it this week and next, cause it's SUPER BOWL TIME. After the Packers sent the Bears packing yesterday with their sissie-snowpants quarterback at the helm, it is time to give credit where it's due and that's to the brain's behind the Packers success, Ted Thompson. Like him or hate him, he is the reason for the great success this year. His movement up in the draft two years ago to get two impact pro-bowl defensive players in Clay Matthews and BJ Raji was the key to the Packers resurgence. This move up in the draft could be compared to the Brett Favre trade if the Packers can finish the deal and win the big show in Dallas two weeks from now. Much more to come...

All to Ted Thompson? Really? How bout Coach McCarthy? Dom Capers? Aaron Rodgers, perhaps?

Everyone knows I am not a huge Teddy supporter, but I will say he gets a brief hiatus from my "Fire Ted Thompson" Bandwagon solely on the fact that the Packers made the SuperBowl under his watch.

That said, in spite of my harsh criticisms, I applauded him for actually MOVING UP to get a guy he wanted in Clay Matthews, and as far as BJ Raji goes.....good pick, but it wasn't exactly a "genius" pick. Same goes for the Rodgers selection.....even the sleep deprived/hung over MasterReid/Emoney combo were calling that one 10 picks in advance. Again, I give credit as this team is really good. IMO, this team has "Dynasty" potential, but I don't think Ted's methods will allow that......and that's where I tend to lose him

I'm with Baffoon: this season, for the most part, is due to Ted's brilliant personnel moves. Second in line is Capers for coaching those spare parts into serviceable players. Third on the list is A-Rodg, and Mac comes in somewhere around ... eighth or ninth. I dunno. I'm still not impressed with him; Rodgers makes Mac look a lot better than he is.
